John Craddock Ltd Magazine (General News)
The newly reopened British Motor Museum (formerly the Heritage Motor Museum) has reopened to the public after a £5m redevelopment where a whole host of historic Land Rovers are on display. The museum now has a dedicated Land Rover zone along with a display mountain as well as interactive features to bring the backstory of these classic vehicles to life. Visitors will be able to see iconic vehicles such as HUE 166 and Ranulph Fiennes’ tracked Defender 110 built for the legendary global expedition.
Legendary Land Rovers on Display Now
The British Motor Museum is now a must visit for any Land Rover enthusiast with an interest in the classic cars produced over the years. Other vehicles in the collection include the very first Freelander 1 and the very last Freelander 2 as well as some stunning Series One and Defender models. You’ll also find a Camel Trophy Discovery 1 that drove around the globe as part of Land Rover’s Tempest Trek. There’s also the often forgotten Road Rover from the 1950’s, which eventually led to the creation of the greatest luxury 4×4 in history, the Range Rover.
And, as well as all these fantastic vehicles on display, the museum has it’s own workshop bay where you can see work being carried out on vintage Land Rovers and other classic cars. Prices for a tour of the museum are £14 for adults and £9 for kids with four scheduled each day. The museum itself is based just south of Birmingham, in Warwickshire and easily accessible off the M40.
Classic Land Rovers
Nobody loves a classic Land Rover more than ourselves here at John Craddock. We love restoring old war horses back to working condition and have had the privilege to work on some truly fantastic vehicles over the years. John Craddock himself was inspired to set up the business after purchasing a 1948 Series One Land Rover and rallying with various clubs in the 60’s and 70’s so classic vehicles will always have a place in our heart.
Today, the team is made up of experienced mechanics and enthusiasts who are vastly experienced when it comes to working on Land Rovers old and new. We have now become the world’s biggest supplier of Land Rover parts with well over 100,000 products currently in stock.
