Touted as one of the ‘must have’ cars of 2016, the Range Rover Evoque Convertible has already caused quite a stir. There’s no doubt that the original Evoque has been a great success for Land Rover thus far, with half a million sold worldwide to date. Therefore, it would make sense for this latest design to stand out amongst the current crop of SUVs on the market, thanks to its convertible appeal and unmistakable Evoque credentials.
About The Range Rover Evoque Convertible
The Range Rover Evoque Convertible enjoyed a debut at the Los Angeles Motor Show back in 2015, three years after a convertible concept was unveiled at the Geneva show in 2012.
The new convertible is available only in higher Dynamic and Dynamic HSE trim levels, powered by either a 178bhp 2.0-litre TD4 Ingenium diesel or the 237bhp turbocharged 2.0-litre Si4 petrol engine.
One of the most noticeable things about the new Evoque is the weight of the vehicle. It weighs in at a hefty 1936kg without passengers or luggage making it even heavier than some variants of the Defender. The added weight is all to do with the additional bracing that has been added to the structure allowing the vehicle to cope with the extreme off-road challenges that Range Rovers are renowned for. And, with Land Rover being Land Rover, they were more than happy to demonstrate these impressive capabilities by performing some wild balancing acts and showcasing the all-terrain attributes across a series of mountain based courses!
A Car For All Seasons
Featuring automatic 9-speed transmission and active cruise control, the Evoque also has all the things you would expect from a modern luxury SUV with heated leather seats, full connectivity with sat-nav and even a handy hatch in the back for ski storage which gives you an indication of the market Land Rover are targeting.
Set for June 2016, the HSE Dynamic model will be priced at £47,500 while the HSE Dynamic Lux model will cost £51,700.
