Records were being set in the beautiful Bavarian countryside as the biggest gathering of Land Rovers and Range Rovers paraded in a single unbroken convoy at Bad Kissingen, Germany. Organised by Jaguar Land Rover Deutschland to celebrate the 70th anniversary of Land Rover. It was highly fitting that the group was made up of vehicles from every era and everyone taking part were volunteers. One couple having taken an epic eight day journey from Siberia just to be there!

Successful Guinness World Record Attempt for Land Rovers and Range Rovers in Germany

Under the scrutiny of Guinness World Record officials, all 632 vehicles needed to travel along a route for 7.4km without leaving a gap wider than two cars length. Should anyone fall behind and create such a space, their Land Rover would be disqualified from the attempt. This spectacular feat of driving was part of Abenteuer Allrad, an annual festival which is the world’s largest celebration of vehicles with off road capabilities.

Such a display presents a vast array of Land Rover parts all in one place. Taking into consideration the spares, that would be 3,160 wheels, some of which were bound to be alloys. There would be the same number of 4×4 tyres, many of which were bound to be from famous brands like BF Goodrich and Insa Turbos. Over 1200 windscreen wipers and headlights adorn the front of each vehicle while their interior and exterior would be laden with a huge variety of Land Rover accessories too. From roof racks, and protection products like chequer plates. Those who like to go trialling would also have had Warn Winch fitted. The sophistication of such parts and accessories would vary depending upon the age of the Land Rover.
