Land Rover Defender Set to Live on?

Thanks to a special heritage restoration programme, the Land Rover Defender is set to live on at the car maker’s Solihull production plant. The Defender officially went out of production a fortnight ago and given a fond farewell over 700 special guests who were also treated to a special display featuring an array of classic Land Rovers. However, new plans have revealed that a series of vintage Defenders are to be restored back to their former glory and breathe new life into the iconic brand.

Continued Support For Land Rover’s Most Iconic Brand

This latest news will be great news for Defender enthusiasts (including ourselves!) all over the globe as well as the select few who have been chosen to work on the project. A team of 12 experts, including 10 who have been reassigned from the original Defender production line, will work on the vehicles and the first one should hopefully be ready by July. The team have a staggering 172 years of combined experience between them and initial work will concentrate on early series Land Rovers.

Land Rover themselves have already said they are committed to preserving their classic vehicles through the project and plan to make these heritage cars as much about their future as their past.
