To celebrate both the production of the 100,000th Discovery Sport and Mother’s Day, Land Rover designers and engineers went undercover to create a vehicle filled with unique touches for unsuspecting mum Natalie Lipton. The family were completely unaware when they purchased the Discovery that it was a landmark moment for Land Rover, but with the help of 7 year old Jacob and 5 year old Noah, they were able to create a truly personalised vehicle for the lucky mum.
The Discovery featured child-seats for both Noah and Jacob with their names stitched into the upholstery along with rear seat entertainment screens to keep them entertained on long journeys. The tread plates featured the family name and they were treated to a whole host of gifts including personalised picnic blankets, water bottles, Barbour jackets and a set of wellies for each member of the family.

A British Success
This latest milestone also ensures three shift production will continue at Jaguar Land Rover’s Halewood plant, which officially began production of the Discovery Sport in October 2014 thanks to a £200m investment. This investment also saw another 250 jobs created and the start of 24 hour production at the plant. The 100,000th car also rolled out exactly 500 days after the first was produced at Halewood, which also manufacturers the Range Rover Evoque.
