If you’re considering using John Craddock Ltd to ship your Land Rover parts, spares or accessories to the USA, you can rest assured that your parcel is in good hands. Shipping 10,000’s of annual orders to non-UK addresses, we have been able to create an efficient and effective service. We are also experienced enough to be able to answer a variety of FAQs, some of which we have answered below.
In order to provide our customers in the USA with the best possible experience, we use a combination of economy shipping and a network of trusted couriers. If you make an order to be shipped internationally, you can expect it to be dispatched within 3-5 days of confirmation. You can also rest assured that your order will comply with international shipping regulations.
Duties and Taxes
Who Pays The Duties and Taxes On My Parcel?
If your parcel qualifies for any duties or taxes upon arrival in the USA, they will be applied either at the checkout or through the shipping agent/customs. As the customer, you will be expected to pay any of the surcharges attached. However, you will be notified to forewarn you about any added fees.
What Fees Should I Expect When Importing From the UK to the USA?
If you’re importing goods into the USA, your parcel could be subject to import taxes and duties. The amount charged in the USA depends on the type of product ordered, the value of the product ordered and the shipping costs too. If your product(s) fall beneath a certain value, you may not be required to pay any duties or taxes on top of your existing fees. If you have any concerns over whether the items that you’re trying to import will attract fees or experience problems, please get in touch. Our experienced and friendly team will be happy to discuss your order and give an idea of what to expect.
What Happens if a Customer Refuses to Pay Customs or Duties on an Order?
If it is that you don’t pay the surcharges applied to your order, it will be cancelled and returned to John Craddock Ltd. If this is the case, you won’t be refunded your initial shipping amount and you will be charged an additional administration surcharge. For this reason, it’s important to reach out and contact us if you’re not sure about what you could be charged.
Lead Times
How Long Will It Take For My Parcel to be Dispatched?
Our team aims to dispatch all international orders within 3-5 working days from when you receive confirmation.
What if this Affected Item Is Not in Stock?
If you have ordered a ‘special order’, you could experience delays due to the involvement of a third party supplier. However, in most cases, this doesn’t make a difference to the 3-5 day dispatch target.
Why is Delivery Taking Longer Than Expected?
If you’re experiencing delays, please get in touch with our team. We will be able to investigate your order and provide you with the most accurate, up to date tracking information possible. Depending on the size of your parcel and the delivery status chosen, your parcel could take anywhere between one to six weeks.
Tracking and Parcel Safety
Are Customers Given a Tracking Code Upon Ordering?
Yes. Here at John Craddock Ltd, we understand the concerns that people have when it comes to international deliveries. For that reason, we send a tracking number via text or email soon after checking out. You can then use this to get accurate tracking updates on the location of your consignment across the world. You will also receive an invoice with this tracking information included once your order has been dispatched.
How are Products Packaged?
Due to the fragile nature of a lot of our products, our team is trained to pack every order with care. As a general rule, our parcels are packed with heavy duty cardboard packaging with a cardboard void fill and cushioning. For anything that is fragile or awkwardly shaped, we can also build bespoke wooden crate packaging.
Bulk and Oversized Orders
What Happens if Orders are Overweight/Oversized?
Orders that are flagged as overweight or oversized in the checkout can qualify for a delivery surcharge. If any of these apply to your order, you will be notified and a member of our team will be in touch to discuss any concerns or questions that you may have.
Returns
What is the Returns Process For International Orders?
If you plan on returning a parcel, you should do so within 28 days of delivery and it should be in its original packaging with a proof of purchase included. Full instructions for returns can be found on our dedicated returns page.
Who Pays For the Return Cost of an Item?
If you are returning an item, you will initially be asked to cover the cost of postage. However, once the item(s) has been received and the fault has been identified to lie with us, we will refund your postage fees in addition to your product(s). When returning your parcel, please ensure that you mark it as ‘returned goods’ and include any relevant paperwork and tracking numbers. By doing all of this, you should be able to avoid any tax or duties on your return.
Are Any Items Non-Returnable from International Locations?
Yes. Please don’t try and return any engines or gearboxes overseas. Once they are exported, they lose their warranty and therefore become non-returnable. ‘Special orders’ can also become non-returnable when we can no longer send them back to their original supplier.
Should Customers Insure Items Upon Returning Them?
We would advise that you insure any return items when you send them. By doing this, you will protect yourself against having to cover costs if anything happens in transit. With parcels sometimes being lost in transit or involved in accidental damage, insurance removes the risk of a return.

Yes, we do deliver to the British Forces Post Offices.
