Delivery to Spain

Here at John Craddock Ltd, you can trust us to ship internationally, with 10,000’s of orders being sent to non-UK addresses each year. Spain is a popular destination for a lot of our parcels and so we’ve encountered countless FAQs during our experience. To help you feel confident in shipping internationally with us, we’ve put them together in the following guide.

In order to offer the best selection of delivery methods, we work closely with a trusted network of couriers in addition to economy shipping. Your shipping method and the size and weight of the consignment are taken into account when working out your delivery rate.

Our team is committed to providing our customers with a service that we can be proud of. Therefore, we make sure to get all of our UK-based orders processed and dispatched within 24 hours of being confirmed. For international orders, our team also takes care to make sure that items are secure and that they always comply with the international shipping regulations.

Duties and Taxes – Spain

Who Pays The Duties and Taxes On My Parcel?

When your parcel arrives in Spain, you will be responsible for paying the duties and taxes associated with your order. These charges can be applied in one of two ways. This is either at the checkout or through the shipping agent/customs once you arrive in Spain. If it is that any of these apply to you, you will be contacted by the customs team.

What is the VAT rate for Spain?

The current standard VAT rate in Spain for imported products is 21%. However, depending on the type of product, reduced rates may be applied instead which can be anything from 10% to 4%. The value of the goods and the international shipping costs are taken into account when working this out. Import duty may also be charged. However, this depends on the type of product being imported. Depending on the value of your products, you may only have to pay either duties or taxes or in some cases, none at all.

What Happens if a Customer Refuses to Pay Customs or Duties on an Order?

If you fail to pay the customs or duties set out on your order, it will be cancelled. As a result of this, you will then be charged an additional administration surcharge and the initial shipping amount still won’t be refunded.

Lead Times

How Long Will It Take For My Parcel to be Dispatched?

Our team will work hard to meet our target of dispatching international orders within 3-5 working days.

What if this Affected Item Is Not in Stock?

This tends to apply to special orders more than others, as we have had to order something from a supplier. If this is the case, there can be added delays due to the involvement of a third party. However, it’s very rare that this has an impact on our 3-5 day dispatch target.

Why is Delivery Taking Longer Than Expected?

If your parcel is taking longer than expected to arrive, please contact us. Our team would be happy to help with any concerns and check on the latest tracking information available. Your parcel could have been slowed down for a number of reasons and we will do our best to get to the bottom of it. Depending on the size of your consignment, it could take anywhere between 1-4 weeks for your parcel to arrive in Spain.

Tracking and Parcel Safety

Are Customers Given a Tracking Code Upon Ordering?

Yes. We want to ensure that our tracking information gives you the peace of mind to have confidence in our service. Once you have checked out, you will receive a tracking number either by text or email. This will also be included in your invoice Once you have checked out, we will make sure that you receive your tracking number by either text or email. You will also be sent an invoice once your order has been dispatched which will include this information.

How are Products Packaged?

Our team is trained to take the utmost care with every order. As a general rule, each parcel is packed with heavy duty cardboard packaging with a cardboard void fill and cushioning. If your product needs extra attention because it’s more fragile or a difficult shape, it will be packed in a bespoke wooden crate.

Bulk and Oversized Orders

What Happens if Orders are Overweight/Oversized?

Our checkout system will automatically attempt to calculate the best shipping options for the size and weight of your chosen product(s). However, if it is that they come up as oversized or overweight, you could also be charged with a delivery surcharge. If it is that this applies to you, a message will appear to notify you at the checkout and a member of our team will contact you to discuss any surcharges involved.

Returns

What is the Returns Process For International Orders?

We want our customers in Spain to receive the easiest and most straightforward experience possible. Therefore, our returns policy for international orders is very similar to that of domestic orders. An example of this is that as long as you return your item within 28 days of delivery and its in its original packaging with proof of purchase, you will receive a full refund. To see the full policy, you can find it on our dedicated returns page.

Who Pays For the Return Cost of an Item?

Unless your return is because of a fault on behalf of John Craddock Ltd, you will be expected to cover the postage costs. When we receive your return and identify that it is a fault of ours, you will be refunded the cost of your postage as well as your order. If you are returning your parcel, there are steps that you can take to avoid any tax and duty charges. Simply mark your consignment as ‘returned goods’, include any relevant paperwork and tracking numbers.

Are Any Items Non-Returnable from International Locations?

Yes. If you internationally ship an engine or gearbox, you will not be able to return these, and they will lose their warranty once they have been shipped overseas. You will also not be able to return any ‘special orders’ that we can no longer return to the supplier.

Should Customers Insure Items Upon Returning Them?

Orders are returned at your risk and so we advise that you get them insured. Otherwise, if they get damages or lost in transit, you will be expected to cover the costs.
