Duties and Taxes

Who Pays The Duties and Taxes On My Parcel?

Once your consignment arrives in the Netherlands, you are responsible for paying any duties or taxes that are associated with your order. These will either be charged at the checkout or through the shipping agent/customs. If these do apply to you, the customs team will be in touch to let you know.

What is the VAT rate for the Netherlands?

Import duty and taxes are now due for goods imported into the Netherlands from the UK. The current VAT rate in the Netherlands for imports is 21%. However, this is subject to change and depending on the type of products, preferential rates may be applied. To work out how much you will be charged, the product type and value of the products will be taken into account. This is because of the UK leaving the European Union. Import duties may also be charged. Depending on the value of your products, you may only have to pay either duties or taxes, or in some cases, none at all.

What Happens if a Customer Refuses to Pay Customs or Duties on an Order?

If you decide against paying the customs or duties set out on your order, it will be cancelled and you will be charged an additional administration surcharge. If this happens, you will also not be refunded the initial shipping amount.

Lead Times

How Long Will It Take For My Parcel to be Dispatched?

Our team sets out to dispatch international orders within 3-5 working days.

What if this Affected Item Is Not in Stock?

The likelihood is that if this happens, it’s for a ‘special order’ that we’ve had to order from another supplier. As a result of introducing a third party, this can often add delays to the delivery process. However, it’s not often that this will have an impact on our 3-5 day dispatch target.

Why is Delivery Taking Longer Than Expected?

Please contact us if your parcel is taking longer than you expected to arrive. Our team of experienced and enthusiastic Land Rover experts will be happy to help provide you with the latest tracking information available. We will do our best to get to the bottom of the delay and provide you with updated delivery information. Depending on the size of your parcel, it can take anywhere between 1-4 weeks to get your parcel to the Netherlands.
Tracking and Parcel Safety

Are Customers Given a Tracking Code Upon Ordering?

Yes. We want to ensure that our tracking information gives you the peace of mind to have confidence in our service. Once you have checked out, you will receive a tracking number either by text or email. This will also be included in your invoice sent out to you once your order has been dispatched.

How are Products Packaged?

As a rule, our parcels are packed with a robust heavy duty cardboard packaging with cardboard void fill and cushioning. You can trust that your package will be appropriately packed with the utmost care as our team is trained to provide secure, reliable packaging. For more challenging, fragile items, we can also provide bespoke wooden crate packaging.

Bulk and Oversized Orders

What Happens if Orders are Overweight/Oversized?

There is a chance that your parcel could be flagged as oversized or overweight at the checkout. If this is the case, a delivery surcharge could apply. A message will appear to notify you of this at the checkout and a member of our team will contact you to discuss any extra charges involved.
Returns

What is the Returns Process For International Orders?

Our returns process from the Netherlands can be found in full on our dedicated returns page. In most cases, if you return your item within 28 days of delivery in the original packaging with a proof of purchase, you will receive a full refund.

Who Pays For the Return Cost of an Item?

This depends on the reason for your return. If you’re returning your parcel because of a fault by John Craddock Ltd, then you will receive a refund for the cost of your postage and order. However, if this isn’t the case then you will be expected to cover the return postage costs. If you are returning a parcel, make sure to mark it as ‘returned goods’ and include any relevant paperwork and tracking numbers. This way, you should be able to avoid any tax or duty charges.

Are Any Items Non-Returnable from International Locations?

Yes. Once you ship over an engine or gearbox internationally, they will lose their warranty and will no longer be returnable. You can also not return ‘special orders’ if we can no longer return them to the supplier.

Should Customers Insure Items Upon Returning Them?

Any orders are returned at your risk. Therefore, we always advise that you get insurance when returning your parcels. Without insurance, you will be expected to cover costs in the event of your item(s) being damaged or lost in transit.

Can You Ship to BFPO addresses?
