Through the use of economy shipping and our network of couriers, we are able to offer a range of flexible shipping options to Italy. The delivery rate for your consignment will be worked out at the checkout based on the size and weight of your consignment and the shipping method that you have selected.
We all take great pride in the service that we provide, and ensure that each of our orders get processed and dispatched within 24 hours of being confirmed. For international orders, our team also works hard to make sure that all of our packages are secure and comply with the international shipping regulations. By doing this, we can ensure you a swift and stress-free delivery service.
Duties and Taxes – Italy
Who Pays The Duties and Taxes On My Parcel?
Each of our customers are responsible for paying the duties and taxes associated with their order. These charges will either be applied at the checkout or through the shipping agent/customs once it arrives in Italy. If you are required to pay any VAT or duties, you will be contacted by the customs teams in Italy.
What is the VAT rate for Italy?
The standard VAT rate for imports into Italy currently stands at 22%. However, depending on the type of product, lower rates can be applied. Duties in Italy can range between 0-17% and the general tariff averages out at 4.2%. However, some products are charged preferential or higher rates based on protection measures. Depending on the value of your products, you may only have to pay either duties or taxes, or in some cases none at all.
What Happens if a Customer Refuses to Pay Customs or Duties on an Order?
If you decide not to pay the customs/duties and you cancel the order, the initial shipping amount won’t be refunded to you and you will be charged an additional administration surcharge.
Lead Times
How Long Will It Take For My Parcel to be Dispatched?
Our team strives to dispatch international orders within 3-5 working days.
What if this Affected Item Is Not in Stock?
For special orders that aren’t in stock with us, there may be added delays as a result of lead times from the supplier. However, this won’t usually have an impact of the 3-5 day dispatch time that we set out as our target.
Why is Delivery Taking Longer Than Expected?
You may be experiencing longer waiting times for a number of reasons. Depending on the size of your parcel, it can take anywhere between 1-4 weeks to arrive in Italy. However, during it’s journey, we will provide regular updates to keep you up to date with the status of your order until it’s delivered to your door.
Tracking and Parcel Safety
Are Customers Given a Tracking Code Upon Ordering?
Yes. Our team will send you a tracking number by text or email once you have checked out. We will also make sure to include this information in your invoice sent to you once your order has dispatched.
How are Products Packaged?
A lot of this depends on the size and weight of your product(s). However, as a general rule, we make sure to use heavy duty cardboard packaging with cardboard void fill and cushioning. If you have a larger, more delicate item like a windscreen or door, we will produce bespoke wooden crates for that much needed extra level of protection.
Bulk and Oversized Orders
What Happens if Orders are Overweight/Oversized?
Our checkout system will automatically try to calculate the best shipping options for your chosen product(s). However, if they happen to be oversized or overweight, you may be given a delivery surcharge. If this applies to you, a message will appear at the checkout to notify you and a member of our team will contact you to explain the delivery options and surcharges involved.
Returns
What is the Returns Process For International Orders?
In order to make the returns process as easy and straightforward as possible for our customers in Italy, much of our policy remains the same as the domestic returns policy. Therefore, your item can be returned within 28 days of delivery by courier or full refund, as long as the item is in its original packaging and you have proof of purchase. To see the full policy, take a look at our dedicated Returns page.
Who Pays For the Return Cost of an Item?
Unless it is the fault of John Craddock Ltd, you will be expected to pay to return your goods that are cancelled or claimed under warranty. If we receive your return and identify that the fault lies with us, then we will refund the cost of your postage. If you want to avoid the tax and duty charges on your return order, mark your parcel as ‘returned goods’ and be sure to include all of the relevant paperwork and tracking numbers to verify that it’s a return.
Are Any Items Non-Returnable from International Locations?
Engines and gearboxes are non-returnable and lose their warranty once they are shipped overseas, including Italy. Also, if it’s not possible to send a ‘special order’ back to a supplier, then this will also count as non-returnable.
Should Customers Insure Items Upon Returning Them?
We strongly advise that you insure your items during their return journey as if they end up damaged or lost in transit, the cost will lie with you.
