Each parcel is also carefully packed and dealt with to ensure that it complies with international shipping regulations.

Duties and Taxes

Who Pays The Duties and Taxes On My Parcel?

Parcels arriving in Australia that qualify for duties and taxes will either have these applied at the checkout or through the shipping agent/customs. The customer is solely responsible for paying these surcharges and you will be notified if they apply.

What Fees Should I Expect When Importing From the UK to Australia?

If you’re importing product(s) from Australia to the UK, your parcel could be subject to some taxes and duties. However, the exact amount will be based upon the type of product ordered, its value and the shipping costs. If the value of your product(s) falls beneath a certain value, duties and taxes may not apply. If you have any concerns regarding future fees, please feel free to contact our team. They will be happy to answer your queries and give you an idea of what to expect.

What Happens if a Customer Refuses to Pay Customs or Duties on an Order?

Please don’t try and avoid paying the customs and duties attached to your order. By not paying, you will cancel the order. As a result, your order will be sent back to John Craddock Ltd and you will be charged an additional administration surcharge. To avoid this, please reach out and contact us as we can help to prepare you for what to expect.

Lead Times

How Long Will It Take For My Parcel to be Dispatched?

For international orders, we aim to dispatch within 3-5 working days from the initial order confirmation.

What if this Affected Item Is Not in Stock?

This applies if you have made a ‘special order’ for us to request stock from another supplier. If this is the case, the involvement of a third party supplier could cause delays. However, it’s rare that this changes the 3-5 day dispatch target.

Why is Delivery Taking Longer Than Expected?

Depending on the size of your order and the delivery method that you have selected, your parcel can take anywhere between one and twelve weeks to arrive in Australia. However, if you’re concerned that it’s taking too long, please contact us. Our team will be able to research the status of your delivery and provide you with the most recent tracking information.

Tracking and Parcel Safety

Are Customers Given a Tracking Code Upon Ordering?

In order to make sure that you stay updated with your parcel every step of the way, you will be sent a tracking number via text or email soon after checking out. This information will also be sent to you as a part of your invoice once your order has been dispatched.

How are Products Packaged?

As many of our products are fragile, our team works with the best materials and takes meticulous care with every order. For most orders, you can expect us to use heavy duty cardboard packaging with cardboard void fill and cushioning. For awkwardly shaped items like car doors and windscreen items, we can also build bespoke wooden crate packaging.

Bulk and Oversized Orders

What Happens if Orders are Overweight/Oversized?

If you get to the checkout and your order is flagged as being overweight or oversized, delivery surcharges may be applied. However, if this is the case you will be notified and a member of our team will be available to discuss any worries or questions that you may have.
Returns

What is the Returns Process For International Orders?

Returns should be sent back within 28 days of being delivered in Australia, and should include both the original packaging and proof of purchase. Full, more in-depth instructions can be found on our dedicated Returns page.

Who Pays For the Return Cost of an Item?

Until the returned parcel reaches us, postage will need to be covered by the customer. However, once it has been received and identified to be because of a fault on behalf of John Craddock, you will be refunded. When you do send us any returned items, make sure to mark it as ‘returned goods’ and include relevant paperwork and tracking numbers. That way, you should avoid any tax or duties during its return journey.

Are Any Items Non-Returnable from International Locations?

Yes. Once engines and gearboxes have been shipped overseas, they lose their warranty and therefore become non-returnable. Any ‘special orders’ like those mentioned earlier can also become non-returnable if we can no longer return them to the original supplier.

Should Customers Insure Items Upon Returning Them?

When you return any items to us, it is at your own risk. Therefore, we would advise our customers to protect themselves with insurance. Parcels get damaged and lost in transit but by insuring yourself against these, you won’t have to worry about covering the costs.

Coverage

Can You Ship to BFPO addresses?
